HELLENiQ Renewables
At HELLENiQ Renewables, we are developing a substantial and diversified portfolio of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) projects, with the ambition of becoming one of Southeast Europe’s leading clean energy companies. Through our activities, we support HELLENiQ ENERGY’s strategic transition towards a more sustainable and diversified energy mix.
We are actively expanding our presence across new technologies, markets, and geographies, aiming to achieve an operating capacity of 1.5 GW by 2028 and exceed 2 GW by 2030, while contributing to the diversification of HELLENiQ ENERGY’s energy portfolio and the reduction of its carbon footprint.
In parallel, we strengthen the connection between renewable energy generation and its delivery to consumers, supporting the transition towards a more sustainable, affordable and secure energy future.
Our Journey
- Establishment of HELLENiQ Renewables in 2006 as a wholly owned subsidiary of HELLENiQ ENERGY, marking its entry into the Renewable Energy sector.
- Development of the first photovoltaic and wind projects, with a focus on gradually expanding the RES portfolio.
- Acquisition and integration of key projects in Greece and abroad, supporting the Group’s energy transition strategy.
- Expansion of international presence with projects in Greece, Cyprus, Romania, and Bulgaria.
- Implementation of new technology solutions, including net-metering systems, and self-generation projects.
- Planning and development of energy storage projects, enhancing the flexibility and reliability of our energy portfolio.
Energy with perspective
The HELLENiQ Renewables development portfolio includes RES and Energy Storage projects with a total capacity exceeding 6 GW, currently at various stages of development and permitting maturity. Geographically, the portfolio extends across Greece, Cyprus, Romania and Bulgaria.
Projects in Development
As part of our strategy for clean energy and sustainable growth, we implement projects that strengthen our energy footprint and our position in the markets where we operate. Each project represents a further step towards a more resilient and sustainable energy future.
In this context, we are implementing investments in the Municipality of Kordelio - Evosmos and in Florina for the development of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The investment comprises five projects selected under the first competitive bidding process for electricity storage support.

The projects were funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”, financed by the European Union - NextGenerationEU.
