The certification was awarded following independent verification by EUROCERT in accordance with the ZWTL-EU1 standard. It recognizes the Group’s systematic efforts to reduce waste sent for final disposal and increase waste recovery.
The certified waste recovery and diversion rate exceeded 90%, surpassing the annual target of recovering at least 85% of waste generated. This achievement reflects the Group’s progress in implementing practices that improve its environmental performance.
The verification process included a review of waste quantities, relevant records and supporting documentation, and final waste treatment methods. On-site inspections at selected facilities confirmed the reliability of the recorded data and the implementation of the relevant practices.
For HELLENiQ ENERGY, circular economy principles are embedded in everyday operations. Waste prevention takes priority, followed by reuse, recycling and recovery. Through targeted actions across its activities, the Group seeks to use resources responsibly and systematically reduce waste sent for final disposal.
The certification marks another step in the Group’s sustainable development strategy. By strengthening its waste monitoring and management processes, HELLENiQ ENERGY continues to pursue further improvements in performance and integrate circular economy practices into its operations.
