HELLENiQ ENERGY, through its subsidiary HELLENiQ Petroleum, has made a donation to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, aimed at upgrading its digital infrastructure as part of the Ministry’s digital transition.
Under the initiative, critical IT equipment was replaced with modern information technology systems, significantly enhancing the operation of the digital services provided by the Ministry and the Hellenic Coast Guard.
The upgrade improves connectivity between the Ministry’s services and Port Authorities across Greece, facilitating their coordination with the central administration while also strengthening the operational capabilities of the Hellenic Coast Guard.
At the same time, it enhances information systems security and cybersecurity, contributing to the more effective management of the Ministry’s operational requirements.
The official handover ceremony for the new digital equipment took place on Wednesday, 11 March, at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, in the presence of the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Vasilis Kikilias, and the Chief Executive Officer of HELLENiQ ENERGY, Andreas Shiamishis.
The event was also attended by the Commandant of the Hellenic Coast Guard, Vice Admiral HCG Tryfon Kontizas; the Secretary General of Ports, Port Policy and Maritime Investments, Evangelos Kyriazopoulos; the Secretary General of the Aegean and Island Policy, Manolis Koutoulakis; and the Director of Electronic Governance at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Commander HCG Evangelos Angelis.
HELLENiQ ENERGY was also represented by Spyros Gkikas, Deputy CEO of EKO; Leonidas Kovaios, Group IT & Digital Transformation General Manager; and Kostas Arvanitis, Shipping Activities Director.
